India Women’s T20 Captain Harmanpreet Kaur Takes Charge As DSP In Punjab

The state had offered the DSP post to her in July last year following her outstanding performance in the Women's World Cup 2017

India’s T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur on March 1 took charge as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) with the Punjab police.

Harmanpreet Kaur, who grabbed the limelight after she helped India storm into the final of the Women’s World Cup with her unbeaten 171 against Australia, took charge in presence of state DGP Suresh Arora and Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

Delighted Kaur took to Twitter and wrote:

Excited about joining @PunjabPolice as DSP. Thank you Chief Minister @capt_amarinder Ji for pursuing my bond waiver with @RailMinIndia. Your support & encouragement will always keep me motivated to deliver my best. And thank you also @PiyushGoyal Ji for your help in the matter.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, too, expressed pride in inducting the Indian women’s T20 captain to Punjab Police and wrote:

Kaur took over the charge as DSP after she received the waiver of her previous employment bond by the Indian Railways.
