Hardik Pandya has proved to be the backbone of the Indian middle batting order in the recent matches. Whenever the top order has failed to perform, Pandya took the charge and stopped the team from falling apart. The cricket fans have hardly forgotten his fiery inning in the Champions Trophy finals against Pakistan. He now repeated it again in the first ODI against Australia in Chennai. His blistering 83 helped Team India post a challenging 281 runs. Though Pandya turned out to be the Man of the Match, one thing went unnoticed during his inning.
Pandya wore his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Mumbai Indians gloves when he was at the crease. A post on the Chennai Super King’s Twitter handle brought this thing to notice. They wrote,”Pandya wearing @mipaltan gloves. Dhoni back in Chepauk. Both playing for @BCCI. Unity in diversity. @IPL for the win. #INDvAUS.”

Pandya’s 66-ball innings had five boundaries and five sixes. The turning point of the innings came in the 37th over when Pandya launched into Adam Zampa’s deliveries. Pandya started with a boundary off a full toss and followed it up with three huge sixes. A total of 24 runs came off that over.
