India’s star cricketer, Yuvraj Singh, backed Supreme Court’s decision to ban the sale of firecrackers till November 1. The apex court today upheld its ban on the sale, which it had relaxed in September, and this is looked upon as a great move by the left-handed batsman. The major reason cited for this move by SC was the increase in pollution levels and the need to monitor them. Yuvraj Singh is active on social media and is looked up to by his followers when it comes talking about social issues. It is great and heartwarming to see the cricketer take up social responsibility with an eye on development. Yuvraj Singh posted a video with a message: “It’s very unhealthy and unnatural for our kids, friends, parents and everyone dear to us.”
Talking about what the festival actually means to him, he said: “It’s important we all take responsibility this year. Diwali is a festival of lights and let us all celebrate it by lighting up diyas, not by burning crackers. Spread love and happiness. Hug people, play cards, eat sweets, but stay away from crackers as this will burn our hearts. Little kids wearing masks due to pollution and roaming around is very disturbing. I’m sure all of you felt bad because of that.”

“Let us remember that it’s our country and it’s our duty to make it a better place to live. If we don’t take responsibility, nobody else will do that. Lot’s of love to all my fans and wishing you all a very happy Diwali,” he concluded.
Yuvraj Singh is in the twilight of his career and would dearly want to wear the blues soon. Yuvraj Singh is not a part of Team India that is currently taking on Australia as he was not able to pass fitness tests.
