Virat Kohli WAY AHEAD of Sachin Tendulkar after 345 innings. Can he BREACH ‘Gods’ 49?

Can he eclipse Mt. Sachin?

Virat Kohli versus Sachin Tendulkar is, undeniably, one of the biggest and toughest debates of modern times. If one is considered a demi-god already, the other is on his way to becoming one. Virat Kohli has 32 centuries compared to Sachin Tendulkar’s 49. It is 17 centuries that separate the legend with the legend in the making. But what really startled us was their total runs after 345 innings. We agree it may be too early to make draw a comparison, but don’t we love comparisons and numbers?

After 345 innings

Sachin Tendulkar after 345 innings: 15631 runs

Virat Kohli after 345 innings: 14639 runs

With 15631 runs at an average of 53.53, the Delhi lad tops the list when we consider most runs scored in his international career after 345 innings. Sachin Tendulkar is almost 1000 runs short as he had 14639 runs at this stage in his career.

So what makes Sachin Tendulkar invincible?

Sachin Tendulkar has shown the same level of consistency for a period of 24 years, which is no mean feat. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, has roughly played 10 years of top cricket, but can he pull it off for 14 more years is what needs to be seen. Virat Kohli at 29 still has 7-8 years of solid cricket left and that is what propels us into thinking he may break the record, which is still the benchmark in limited overs cricket.

On November 5, Virat Kohli turned 29 and this is how the Indian team celebrated his birthday. His colleagues did not let go of the opportunity of giving him generous cake facial.

Meanwhile, with the T20I series locked at 1-1, Virat Kohli will be leading the Indian team in the decider at Thiruvananthapuram on November 7.
