Virat Kohli-Donald Trump are mirror images of each other across fields, reckons Australian media!

Virat Kohli has been known for his passionate behaviour on the field but comparing him to Donald Trump is just plain stupidity

Australian media seems to have made a habit out of insulting and criticising Virat Kohli. At first, they criticised Kohli for confronting Australian captain over ‘brain fade’ or ‘Dressing Room Review System’ as he and Peter Handscomb seeks help from their support staff on whether to take the review or not. Australian media Fox Sports seems to have an agenda to take Kohli’s mind off the game as earlier they started a poll called ‘Vettel of the Week’ on their facebook page comparing him to dogs, cats, pandas.

They wanted him to be punished by International Cricket Council (ICC) for making allegations against Australian relating to ‘brain fade’ incident despite their former players favouring the Indian skipper’s call. The Australian players did not just stop there, as they compared him to Donald Trump for replying to Glenn Maxwell who mocked Kohli’s injury after saving a boundary in a similar fashion.

The words Australian media used after what Kohli said in the post-match press conference were ‘completely untouchable’ and ‘a law unto himself’. Even this would have been taken in good humour but they went on to write this in their blog post, “Kohli has become the Donald Trump of world sport” which was supposed to infuriate players and fans of Indian team and Kohli.

They even compared him to former Sri Lankan captain, Arjuna Ranatunga, “Like former Sri Lankan captain Arjuna Ranatunga, Kohli relies on a flagrant disrespect of his opponents and the game to fuel himself and his team. Soft cricketing administrators have given rise to a bat-wielding Trump.”

Australian media went on and on clarifying, covering up for Smith. In the post it was written that, “Test captains, under the rules of the game, are supposed to be the flagbearers for upholding the spirit of the game, yet the ICC has allowed the Indian captain to destroy one of the foundations on which the game has been played for more than a century”.

They also mentioned how the Indian broadcaster of the Test, Star Sports apologised to Smith, the post read, “The fact Kohli has not been sanctioned for calling the Australians systematic cheats or his latest unfounded attack on Smith shows that he is completely untouchable. The ICC won’t fine him. Not even the BCCI, who through their broadcaster apologised to Smith, can get their skipper to tow the party line”.
