Virat Kohli, Ashwin and Mithali Raj to be honoured at BCCI Annual Awards. Here’s the full list

Rajinder Goel, Padmakar Shivalkar, and Shantha Rangaswamy to receive the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Annual Awards event is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on March 8 in which Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be felicitated with the prestigious Polly Umrigar Award—an honour bestowed to the International Cricketer of the year. It will be the third time in his career that Virat will be acknowledged with this award. Earlier, Kohli bagged this honour in 2011-12 and then in the year 2014-15.

Following his captain, spinner R Ashwin will also be bagging the Dilip Sardesai Award for his phenomenal performance in the recent season. With this award, Ashwin will become the only cricketer to have received this award twice. The Tamil Nadu lad appreciated with this honour after he was named as his Man of the Series performance in his debut series 2011 against West Indies. And now, after his class exhibition from the ball as well as bat earned him this honour twice in tandem with his 2016 gig when Ashwin was again named Man of the Series for his outstanding all-round show where he notched up two centuries and picked up 17 wickets including two five-wicket hauls.

Among the grooming youngsters, Jalaj Saxena of Madhya Pradesh will be receiving the Lala Amarnath Award for the best all-rounder in 2015-16 Ranji Trophy season. Gujarat’s Axar Patel will receive the same for his consistent performance in the limited over cricket.

From India women’s team, ODI and Test skipper Mithali Raj will be receiving the Jagmohan Dalmiya Award for Best Women Cricketer (Senior) in the 2015-16 season and Nitin Menon bags the best umpire award in the domestic circuit.

Further, the awardees for this year are Rajinder Goel, Padmakar Shivalkar, and Shantha Rangaswamy. These three former cricketers have been nominated by the Board’s Award Committee consisting of BCCI admins Ramachandra Guha, Diana Edulji, and N. Ram.
