India’s living cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who turned 44 on April 24, has thanked his fans for their birthday messages. The master blaster took to his official Instagram account to upload a video thanking his millions of fans.
“Thank you very much for all the good wishes on my 44th birthday. So many guys have wished me and it means me a lot,” Sachin said in a video message.
Sachin Tendulkar, fondly called as the ‘God of Cricket’, made his Test debut when he was 16 years old on November 15, 1989, against Pakistan. Thereafter, he went on to play 200 matches donning the whites with pride.
Talking about the ODI, the right-handed batsman played 463 matches in total and holds the record for being the first batsman to score 200 runs (147 balls, 25 fours and 3 sixes) in an ODI against South Africa in the year 2010. In total, he has scored 100 centuries, 51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs. During his 24 years of career, the little master accumulated 34,357 runs in international cricket.
Tendulkar, who inspired millions to take up cricket as a profession, bid adieu to international cricket in November 2013 after playing the last Test match against West Indies at the iconic Wankhede stadium.
Meanwhile, many cricketers including Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Kaif and Virat Kohli, took to their official Twitter handle to wish the legend.
