Tweeple Celebrate As India Beat Pakistan In Women Asia Cup T20 To Reach Finals

India through to the Women Asia Cup T20 finals with a comprehensive win over arch-rivals Pakistan

India-Pakistan always spell high-voltage drama for fans. India went up against Pakistan in Women Asia Cup T20, 2018. Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision did not work in Pakistan’s favour as they suffered a major batting collapse. Only two batters, Nahida Khan and Sana Mir could score in double digits as Pakistan scored a below par score of 72 for 7 wickets in the first innings.

India’s batting lineup is strong and it seemed like the target will be a cakewalk for them. But Anam Anim gave India jitters as she dismissed both Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma for zero. Opener Smriti Mandhana and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur steadied the ship and played out her overs.

Mandhana-Kaur shared a partnership of 65 runs for the third wicket. They scored 38 runs and 34 runs respectively helping India win the match by 7 wickets and reach the final of Asia CUp T20 with 23 balls to spare. Mandhana lost her wicket just three runs away from victory.
