Smriti Mandhana challenges Harmanpreet Kaur to juggle footballs to support U-17 FIFA World Cup — Watch Video

Smriti Mandhana had earlier been challenged by Srikanth Kidambi for a football juggle in a bid to support India in the upcoming Under-17 FIFA World Cup tournament

The opener of the Indian women’s cricket team, Smriti Mandhana, posted a video on her Twitter account in which she challenged Indian women’s cricket team’s Vice-Captain, Harmanpreet Kaur to juggle footballs. The video was a rather promotional tweet ahead of the Under-17 FIFA World Cup which will be starting on October 6, with the final to be held in Kolkata. Mandhana was earlier challenged by India’s star badminton player Srikanth Kidambi who posted a similar video on September 7. Mandhana took her sweet time to accept and complete the challenge from Kidambi. However, fans will wait for Harmanpreet’s answer to the video.

Mandhana captioned the video as: “I support India Under-17 for the FIFA World Cup and I would like to nominate Harmanpreet Kaur to take up this juggling challenge and show her support to the Indian football team.”

Srikanth was quick to reply after Mandhana’s video as well. He tweeted-

Mandhana famously scored a century against West Indies and a vital knock of 90 against England in the Women’s World Cup 2017. She made a terrific comeback after recovering from an injury that had bound her to crutches.

Mandhana recently made a strong statement in the media,

I don’t think anybody will ask us who is our favourite male cricketer. I believe girls will start playing cricket and I think they will be compared to Mithali Raj and not Sachin Tendulkar.

The 21-year-old also said that she had high hopes from BCCI. She said,

Women’s IPL will be a great thing. The domestic players will get to play with the international stars. I’m sure BCCI will think about it.

India’s under-17 men’s football team will be playing their first game against the USA on October 6.
