Sachin Tendulkar Gives Subtle Reply To Harbhajan Singh’s ‘How Do You Play This Ball?’

Even Sachin Tendulkar has struggled against James Anderson in English conditions

The Lord’s Test got off to a fantastic start in the first over as James Anderson outfoxed Murali Vijay with a perfect outswinger. Everyone hailed Anderson for the unplayable delivery, including Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh. The magical delivery led to Harbhajan asking a question from the world’s highest international run-getter, Sachin Tendulkar.

Harbhajan witnessed the delivery live at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, London and tweeted his question to Tendulkar.

How do u play this ball ? paji can u explain plz @sachin_rt what a beauty https://t.co/1m0Ri5RXix

The 45-year-old was busy with Tendulkar at Middlesex Global Academy, helping young kids learn the game. He took his time and replied to former Mumbai Indians (MI) teammate in a subtle manner.

What a fantastic delivery by @Jimmy9! But this is a question many have asked after getting foxed by your doosra as well @harbhajan_singh. https://t.co/5T9D3MUfRL

It seems from the reply that even the Master Blaster knows how tough it is to play a ball when it’s moving like this, on and off the pitch. So he praised Harbhajan for his doosra, which troubled most of the batsmen. Murali played completely down the wrong line as he tried to play it towards the leg side.

Anderson was on the mark as he barely gave the batsmen any room to work the ball. He kept the pressure on and took two wickets in the first session, including Vijay and KL Rahul. When brought back into the attack, he got the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane, Kuldeep Yadav and Ishant Sharma.

It was Anderson’s 26th five-wicket haul in the Test cricket. He could not get the better of Indian skipper Virat Kohli but entered the history books by pipping former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan to become the pacer with most wickets against India.
