Rohit ‘HITMAN’ Sharma becomes first batsman on planet to score 3rd ODI double century

Earlier, Sri Lanka skipper Thisara Perera won the toss and elected to field in the second ODI of the three-match series

India’s stand-in captain Rohit Sharma on December 13 added another feather to his cap as he became the first batsman in the history to score three double centuries in One Day Internationals (ODI). Rohit Sharma achieved this feat during the second ODI match against Sri Lanka at the Punjab Cricket Association’s IS Bindra Stadium at Mohali on December 13.

Rohit, who is leading the Indian team in absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, played over 150 balls to complete his third double century in white-ball cricket.

In his 208* run knock, Rohit smashed Sri Lankans bowlers all around the park. During his stay at the middle, Rohit scored 12 sixes and 13 fours.

Earlier, Sri Lanka skipper Thisara Perera won the toss and elected to field in the second ODI of the three-match series on December 13.

After the seven-wicket loss in the Dharamsala opener on Sunday, India made one change in their playing XI by handing a debut to teenage all-rounder Washington Sundar in place of chinaman Kuldeep Yadav.
