Ravichandran Ashwin and Russell Arnold are a fan of each other and this Twitter conversation proves it!

Andre Russel wished Ashwin for his 300 Test wickets. Later, Ashwin thanked him and praised the way he commentated in Tamil during the 2nd Test

Indian ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin became the fastest bowler to claim 300 wickets in Tests on November 2 and surpassed Australian legend Dennis Lillee. Indian also went on to defeat Sri Lanka in the 2nd Test by an inning and 239 runs while Ashwin bagged the bankable player award. His fans and followers on social media showered wishes on reaching this feat. Several cricketers also applauded Ashwin’s performance against the Lankans. Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan cricketer Russel Arnold also sent a special message to Ashwin.

Russel took to his Twitter account and congratulated the Indian off-spinner. He also mentioned that he always enjoys watching him bowl.

Ashwin was quick enough to respond back. In reply, Ashwin thanked the latter for the congratulatory message and mentioned that he also liked his Tamil commentary. Here’s the tweet:

Ashwin achieved this feat in just 54 Test matches and broke Lillee’s record who did in 55 games way back in 1981.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar also congratulated his former teammate on his achievement. Sachin tweeted:

The Indian cricket team is currently leading the series by 1-0. The last match of the series is scheduled to be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi starting from December 2. It will be the last game for Virat Kohli ahead of India’s tour to South Africa. He has been given rest from the BCCI and won’t appear in the ODI and T20I series.
