PM Narendra Modi wishes Indian women’s team through 12 tweets, posts clock more than 2K RTs

As Mithali Raj-led Indian women's team play England in the final of ICC Women's World Cup 2017, PM Narendra Modi wished them good luck

The Indian women’s cricket team are playing England in the final of ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 at Lord’s. Batting first after winning the toss, the hosts are off to a flying start. Meanwhile, the Mithali Raj & co continue to receive good luck messages by the Indian fans from across the globe. Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has joined the bandwagon as he wished each member of the cricket team in his own style. The Indian eves, who are playing their second World Cup final after having lost the title to Australia by 98 runs in 2005, would be buoyed after having read the message.

“As our women’s cricket team plays the World Cup finals today, I join the 125 crore Indians in wishing them the very best! @BCCIWomen,” Modi posted. India made it to the finals after trouncing Australia by 36 runs in the semi-final on July 20. Harmanpreet Kaur stole the show with her unbeaten knock of 171 off 115 balls to help India amass a competitive total of 281/4. Deepti Sharma, Jhulan Goswami and Shikha Pandey ran through the Australian batting line-up to propel India to a comprehensive victory. The BCCI has meanwhile announced a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh for each player of the Indian women’s team and Rs 25 lakh each for the support staff members.
