Now, Virat Kohli to charge Rs 5 crore a day for brand endorsement, highest by an Indian celebrity

Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli is not only rocking the cricket fields with his performance but his presence in the advertisement world is simply impressive. The Delhi lad not only at the peak of his cricketing career but from the business point of view, he is gradually moving towards the summit. Recently, the captain fearless has increased his endorsement fee to Rs 5 crore a day for the new contracts which is the highest charged by any celebrity in the country.

This fee hike has been confirmed by two officials (Identities not revealed)  representing different brands endorsed by Kohli. This hike has left behind the fee charged by MS Dhoni and several Bollywood stars such as Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor. While the agency representing Kohli, Cornerstone Sports, has declined to speak about this information.

Prior to this hike, Kohli used to charge between Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 4 crore a day. And now, after negotiating with PepsiCo regarding the renewal of his deal the charges have risen. However, Kohli is uncertain yet about renewing this deal due to the health concerns associated with colas.

Last year, PepsiCo ended its 11-year contract with Dhoni. According to few media reports, the company could go ahead to renew their contract with Virat Kohli.

On this, the Cornerstone Sport CEO Bunty Sajdeh, in an e-mail, said,”Virat’s contract with PepsiCo ends on April 30. Presently, a negotiation is underway for the contract extension. Hopefully, we will collaborate with them for years to come.”

On the other hand, according to an Economic Times report, a spokesperson from PepsiCo said in response”Virat’s contract with the company is up for renewal and we are in active discussions to renew the same. We are looking forward to continuing the association with him.”
