‘Not Just Against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma Can Score Anywhere In World,’ Tweeps Praise ‘Hit Man’

Rohit Sharma got the 'Man of the Match' and 'Man of the Series' awards for his excellent run throughout the series

Rohit Sharma made a mockery of English pitch conditions as he struck an unbeaten century to guide his team to a seven-wicket victory over hosts England in the third and the final T20I match at the County Ground, Bristol on July 8.

Sharma, who has been facing criticism owing to his poor form, blasted English bowlers all around the park as he remained not out on 100 off 56 balls, including 11 fours and five sixes. Following this match-winning knock, Rohit Sharma became the second batsman to score three tons in T20I.

Rohit Sharma got the ‘Man of the Match’ and ‘Man of the Series’ awards for his excellent run throughout the series.

Impressed with Rohit’s knock, his fans took to Twitter to praise the ‘Hit Man’ of the Indian cricket team and called his match-winning knock as a ‘slap to his haters’. Here are some of the reactions:

Earlier, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss in the decider and invited Eoin Morgan’s side to bat first on the pitch which was batting-friendly.

England seemed dangerous at the start as their openers Jos Buttler (34; 21b; 7×4) and Jason Roy (67; 31b; 4×4, 7×6) scored 73/0 before the field restrictions got over.

Hardik Pandya then helped the Indian team to make a come-back into the game after he bowled 11 dot balls in the middle overs and returned with a figure of 4/38. He picked up the wickets of Alex Hales (30; 24b; 3×4; 2×6), skipper Eoin Morgan (6), comeback man Ben Stokes (14) and Jonny Bairstow (25; 14b, 2×4, 2×6).

In reply, India chased down the 199-run target with 8 balls to spare. This was India’s sixth successive T20I series win.
