MS Dhoni does a ‘full split’ in Rajkot T20I, Twitter gets flooded with memes & jokes — Watch Video

MS Dhoni missed out on his second T20I fifty as he got out for 49 in the final over of India vs New Zealand 2nd T20I at Rajkot

MS Dhoni pulled off something unusual on the cricket field during the India vs New Zealand second T20I at Rajkot. Dhoni turned gymnast on the crease when he did a full split on the crease in order to avoid getting stumped out. The incident happened on the first ball of the 17th over. With 73 needed off 24 balls he tried to take on Mitchell Santner but he flighted the ball. He was beaten by the ball’s flight but managed to drag his back leg back into the crease and save his wicket.

In an attempt to save his wicket, Dhoni ended up doing a full split and almost fell backwards. He had to place his left hand behind him to balance himself as it could have given New Zealand wicketkeeper a chance to whip the bails off.

Here’s the video of the incident –

Dhoni scored 49 runs from 37 balls including 2 fours and 3 sixes. He scored at a strike rate of 132.43 which was not enough to chase down the total or go any closer to it. He lost his wicket in the final over and missed out on his second T20I century.
