Mohammed Siraj, right-arm medium pacer from Hyderabad, got emotional during the second T20 International between India and New Zealand

Debutant Mohammed Siraj, right-arm fast-medium pacer from Hyderabad, got emotional during the second T20 International between India and New Zealand at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on November 4. The son of an auto-rickshaw driver, Mohammed Siraj could not hold back his tears as soon as he stepped onto the field for the first time as a member of Indian Cricket Team playing XI donning the Indian jersey. The incident happened just after the Indian national anthem.

Siraj did not get a wicket in his first spell but made New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson his first scalp in the 15th over when he was brought back into the attack. Williamson is also his Sunrisers Hyderabad teammate in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017.

Mohammed Siraj found his place in the playing XI after he replaced Ashish Nehra who retired from all forms of cricket on November 1 during the 1st T20I between India and New Zealand at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi.

Earlier, Mohammed Siraj made it to the headlines after he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in Indian Premier League season 10 for Rs 2.6 crore.
