Kuldeep Yadav’s shocking revelation: I thought of committing suicide when I was 13

While speaking in an event, Kuldeep Yadav revealed that there was a time in his life when he thought to quit the game and even to commit suicide

Kuldeep Yadav was just a Chinaman bowler in the Indian squad before he claimed a hat-trick against Australia in Kolkata ODI. That incident changed his fate overnight and now he is one of the favourites from Team India. Debuted in Match 2017, the 22-year-old wrist spinner has come a long way now and is expected to represent the nation in the 2019 world cup. However, it took him a lot to achieve all these. His life was not easy when he was just a teenager.

Kuldeep recently attended an even organised by one of the leading Indian dailies, Hindustan Times. While speaking in the event, the Kanpur lad revealed that there was a time in his life when he thought to quit the game. When he was 13, he was not selected in the Uttar Pradesh’s under-15 team and even thought to commit suicide.

“I had worked hard for my selection, but when I was not picked, I mentioned suicide in frustration. It happens to everyone in the heat of the moment,” Kuldeep was quoted by HT as saying.

He also described how he made his way to the cricket field and became a Chinaman bowler. He said,

“I was a meritorious student in school and wanted to play cricket just for fun. I never thought of making it my vocation. In fact, my father wanted me to play cricket and took me to the coach. I always wanted to become a seam bowler, but my coach forced me to become a spinner. When I bowled a few balls (Chinaman), I was asked to make it a habit. Otherwise, I didn’t know I was bowling something different.”

When it comes to left-arm wrist-spin bowling, skipper Virat Kohli relies upon this youngster who has been doing phenomenally well across all the three formats. though some of the cricket experts think that he needs to work hard but at the same time, they also believe that he has all those qualities of turning to a legendary player of this game.

Currently he has been preparing himself for the upcoming Test series against Australia which is going to start on November 16 in Kolkata.
