Is 27-Yr-Old English Spinner Josh Poysden The Next Shane Warne?

Poysden received a lot of praise for his spectacular delivery

27-year-old leg-spinner Josh Poysden stunned cricket fans all over the globe after he bowled a spectacular delivery to dismiss batsman Steven Croft in the ongoing T20 Blast at Edgbaston on August 15.

Many of the fans thought Poysden’s delivery was similar to former Australian cricketer Shane Warne’s bowling to Mike Gatting in the 1993 Ashes Test at Old Trafford.

Don’t want to overhype anything but that shot from Croft was very reminiscent of Gatting’s to Warne. Not a lot he could have done at all

Representing Birmingham Bears, Poysden was bowling the 10th over in the game against Lancashire Lightning. On his final ball of the over, Poysden produced an unplayable leg-spin that left everyone thrilled, including the batsman Steven Croft.

Poysden’s delivery pitched it in the middle and leg-stump area as the batsman tried to defend the ball with minimal footwork. The ball took a sharp turn and went on to hit the top of off-stump. Croft stayed on a pith for while as he was left completely stunned. He then smiled as he walked back to the pavilion.

This beautiful shot of Poysden received a lot of praise from cricket fans with some demanding his selection into the England squad.

Here are a few tweets:

Surely this means he’ll get picked for England? A leggie getting a wicket bowled is the criteria right? __ #ENGvIND @englandcricket
