IPL Auction 2017: Twitterati find a Gujarati connection to Stokes BEN’s record bid

As soon as Ben Stokes became the most expensive player in IPL 2017, reactions erupted on twitter!

The Indian Premier League 2017 player auctions held on February 20 at Bengaluru and within few hours, English all-rounder Ben Stokes came up with flashing colours. Since the bidding started, Stokes became the costliest player to be sold in the auction and his final price was Rs 14.5 cr.

The auctions revealed that half of the franchisees were keen to have the Englishman on board. There was the Daredevils, Royal Challengers, Kings XI Punjab and of course, the Rising Pune Supergiants going hammer and tongs for the beefy English all-rounder. His base price was earlier fixed at 2 crores. But when his turn arrived, the bidding went just up and up. The entire ‘Ben Stokes’ episode took about ten long minutes before the hammer was clamped for the final time.

Moments later, the Twitterati gathered over the twitter and poured their thoughts on the micro-blogging site. Here are few tweets mentioned below:

Ben Stokes can now host his own PSL.
