IPL 2018: Shane Warne Gets Trolled For His Prediction Of Sunrisers Hyderabad Clash

IPL 2018, RR vs SRH: Shane Warne would have regretted posting this tweet on Bhuvneshwar Kumar after Kane Williamson revealed the playing XI

Rajasthan Royals (RR) lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at their home ground, Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Despite their captain Ajinkya Rahane’s half-century, RR fell short of a modest target set by SRH. Before the game, RR mentor and Indian Premier League (IPL)-winning captain Shane Warne started a little banter of his own on Twitter. Warne quoted SRH’s tweet on the contest between Rahane and SRH bowling spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Here’s Warne’s tweet on the matter –

Welcome to our fortress ! FYI our Captain is in the mood to shake, bake & smash your man Bhuvi all over the pink city ! https://t.co/1z3X7hzxJ1

The stats were not even applicable as the clash between Rahane and Bhuvneshwar was not going to happen. Bhuvneshwar is out of the SRH side owing to an injury he suffered during IPL 2018.

Rahane opened the batting with the hope to chase down the target of 152 set by SRH. Kane Williamson-led SRH bowlers once again got the better of opposition batsmen in the death overs.

Rahane scored 63 runs leading from the front after opener Rahul Tripathi’s wicket. He stitched a partnership with Sanju Samson to get RR back on track. But mediocre performances from RR’s middle order, including Ben Stokes getting out for a duck, contributed to the loss.

RR are currently struggling to make it into the top four of IPL 2018 points table. They are in the fifth position with 3 wins from 7 games. On the other hand, SRH became the table-toppers after beating RR on the latter’s home ground.
