Rishabh Pant, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, remained quite silent in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) until he batted against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy stadium on April 21. While Gautam Gambhir & Co had had a slow start in the first innings, the 20-year-old cricketer from Delhi had some other plans for this night’s battle.
Pant stepped in to bat when the DD was reduced to 23/2. The Delhi openers failed to perform and it seemed that RCB had a strong hold on the game right from the beginning. But soon the entire scenario turned upside down and the Bangalore bowlers looked a lot frustrated. After adding 75 runs for the 3rd wicket, Pant shifted the gears and punished every second bowler who came into the attack. The young gun from the Delhi camp saved his team’s batting by smashing a magnificent half-century.
He ended up scoring 85 off 48 balls including 7 sixes and 6 four. Here’s how he created a typhoon at the Chinnaswamy:

Indeed it was a 360-degree performance from the young man which left the fans stunned and forced them to pour their reactions on social media. Here’s how the tweeps praised Pant’s fabulous fireworks:

That innings was as good as I have seen Rishabh Pant bat. Earlier seemed to be a young man in a hurry but this was very mature and he paced it really well.

With the help of Pant’s inning, DD put a huge score of 174 runs in their 20-overs quota. If they manage to win this face-off against RCB, they will earn 2 more points and are likely to grab the sixth position on the points table.
