IPL 2018: Pakistani Journalist Faces Backlash For Lauding MS Dhoni’s Innings Against RCB!

IPL 2018: Nobody blamed us for lauding players for performing well in Pakistan Super League (PSL), then why bash her for following IPL?

Pakistan’s sports journalist Zainab Abbas faced flak on Twitter for complimenting Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni on his innings that won the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Zainab expressed her views on Dhoni’s batting as he once again finished off the match in style by hitting a six in the last over.

Here’s what she tweeted —

And he has done JUST that!! #dhoni https://t.co/j416U80z4j

In no time, she received backlash from Pakistani netizens for supporting the former Indian skipper —

WTH u r promoting them when they don’t want to play with us, they want to isolate Pak in every field.. You showed that personal interests r always bigger than the country’s pride shame on u…

Dhoni has hit a purple patch in this season after playing a few single-digit innings. He scored unbeaten 70 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and chased down the target of 206. His innings included just one four and 7 sixes, scoring at a strike rate of 205.88. He stitched a marvellous partnership with opener Ambati Rayudu and turned the match upside down despite CSK losing four wickets in 9 overs.

Zainab covered Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018. She made headlines during Champions Trophy 2017-18 for clicking selfies with star batsmen AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli. A few Tweeps, however, believe that whichever batsman she clicks a selfie with before the match, he gets out early without making a mark.
