IPL 2018: Rahul Tripathi Plays An Awkward Shot, Flipping The Bat Out Of His Hand — Watch

IPL 2018, KKR vs RR, Eliminator: Rahul Tripathi could not convert a decent start into a big score due to a soft dismissal by Piyush Chawla

Rahul Tripathi got into an awkward situation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 eliminator between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). On the third delivery of the second over of RR’s innings, Tripathi tried to play a back of the length delivery from Prasidh Krishna but the bat flipped out of his hand. He could not get hold of the bat while running towards the non-striker’s end to take a single.

The RR opener completed the single without the bat in his hand. After completing the run, Tripathi asked the umpire whether he could go and pick up his bat. He and RR skipper Rahane shared a laugh as the latter handed him his bat.

The bat may have flipped as Tripathi tried to make room for himself by moving towards the leg side. Krishna followed him and bowled an inswinger, giving the batsman no room to hit the ball over covers.
