IPL 2018: Jos Buttler Breaks Virat Kohli’s RECORD Despite Loss To KKR!

IPL 2018, KKR v RR: Jos Buttler has accumulated 548 runs in 13 matches at a staggering average of 54.80

Jos Buttler has been the toast of Rajasthan Royals (RR), despite the franchise not having a good run. On May 15, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat the Royals with 12 balls to spare and that means Royals are more or less out of the tournament. But their loss was bittersweet as in-form Jos Buttler broke an IPL record previously held by Virat Kohli.

Well, Buttler did not get off to the best of starts in IPL 2018, only being able to score low scores in the initial games. But it seems he has made up for it. In his last six innings, Buttler has scored 428 runs which is the highest number of runs in IPL history (for a stretch of 6 innings) and the only player who has scored more runs in a stretch of six innings is Virat Kohli – 432 in 2014.

This is a huge stat for Buttler, as it shows how he has matured over matches in IPL 2018. Despite Buttler being on a purple patch, Royals find themselves on the cusp of an exit. They have played 13 matches, having won only 6. Royals are not completely out of the race, but will now have to rely on other franchises’ performances to make it to the playoffs. Meanwhile, Buttler has accumulated 548 runs in 13 matches at a staggering average of 54.80.

A massive thank you to everyone involved in the very special @rajasthanroyals set up! What an amazing few weeks in India with some fantastic memories made on and off the pitch. Such a great changing room to be a part of and incredible family feel the franchise have developed. Have loved my time with everyone and I will be watching on Saturday as we make it through to the play offs!! #hallabol

But what makes him the player of the season for Royals is his strike rate which is 155.24. His highest score this season is 95 unbeaten. In fact, he reached the 90s on two occasions in IPL 2018 but failed to convert them into a century.
