MS Dhoni creates 4 World Records after hitting 78 runs against West Indies in 3rd ODI. Here’s the list

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the only Indian wicket-keeper batsman to create all these four world records in ODIs. He has played 291 ODIs so far and his marvels have surpassed many legendary cricketers on this planet

After almost a month, wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s bat yelled runs and turned out to be a saviour for his team in the third India vs West Indies ODI held on June 30 in Antigua. He not only ended up scoring 78 runs off 79 balls but also, took his team to a decent total of 251. Team India had a very poor start as in-form batsman Shikhar Dhawan lost his wicket early. Skipper Virat Kohli also couldn’t do well in the game and was out after scoring just 11 runs off 22 balls. Yuvraj Singh, who came in at number 4, also returned to the pavilion after facing 55 balls and by then, India had lost 3 wickets within 100 runs.

MS Dhoni took the charge right from then and he played till the end. MS and Ajinkya Rahane added a total of 70 runs for the 4th wicket. By the end, MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav shifted the gear to take the team total above 250.

Dhoni took a bit longer time to get settled on the crease as by the end of 40th over, he had only scored 29 runs. He soon changed the momentum and moving a step ahead, he started charging the bowlers once Ajinkya Rahane got out after a gritty 72-run knock. In the last 10 overs, he knocked 48 runs and remained not out after scoring 78.

With this half-century, MS Dhoni became the 2nd wicket-keeper in the world to score most number of fifties in his international career after Kumara Sangakkara. He is also the only Indian wicket-keeper to do so.

And after reading all these stats about MS Dhoni, the fact would automatically get clear that why is he considered as the best wicket-keeper batsmen the Indian cricket team ever had.  It’s not a wonder that MS dhoni becomes the only Indian or it could be said that the first Indian batsman to hit 200 sixes in ODIs. He had already hit the highest number of sixes and after yesterday’s game, he has crossed the 200 benchmark.
