Ravichandran Ashwin to miss Australia series. REASON REVEALED!

In his debut for the County side, he bagged a five-for and has to complete his commitments, hence speculations are he will miss the Australia series

Ace Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is not currently with the Indian team which is currently on the Sri Lanka tour. India has already taken a 4-0 lead in the ODI series and Sri Lanka is staring at yet another whitewash. Ravichandran Ashwin, who was part of the Indian team in the whites, left for England for his County commitments, as he is playing for Worcestershire. In fact, in his debut for the County side, he bagged eight wickets and now has to complete his commitments, hence speculations are that he will miss the Australia series.

“I could be called to play in the Australia series,” Ashwin told ESPNCricinfo, “but I have indicated to Bumpy (Steve Rhodes, the Worcestershire direct of cricket) that I will be available for all four games. As of now, there are no communication channels (with BCCI) open but they will be shortly, so I will probably get a clearer idea after the Sri Lanka series”.

“But yes, next year is in the back of my mind and in the back of the mind of the team management back home. With the pace with which the international cricket calendar is set-up, you don’t have a long time to prepare,” he added.

“That might even cost you a Test match. So these experiences can be banked upon and, if you can learn faster — which I pride myself upon — the results can come a bit faster,” Ashwin said.

Ashwin is a big player of the Indian side, specialized in sub continental conditions.

Considering Australians are not traditionally good against spin, if Ashwin was to be included, he could have been the major trump card for India.
