One of India’s finest spinners, Harbhajan Singh, trolled former Australian captain and batsman Michael Clarke after Virat Kohli-led Men in Blue thrashed the Kangaroos by five wickets in the third One-Day International at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on September 24. With this win, Team India clinched the five-match series by 3-0. Harbhajan Singh took to his official Twitter handle to target the former Australian skipper.
Earlier, Steve Smith-led side won the toss and opted to bat first in a must-win game for the Aussies. Australians started off well and managed to post 293/6 in their quota of 50 overs. For the Australians, Aaron Finch scored the most with 124 runs off 125 balls. Finch, who missed the first two ODIs due to a calf injury, plundered 12 fours and four sixes in his innings.
Post the Australian innings, Michael Clarke posted a video on his Twitter account and captioned it as: “3rd ODI IND vs AUS. Aussies look to be about 40 short.” In the video, Michael predicted “In the 3rd ODI Australia make 293 which is very competitive. On this pitch with the position they were in they’ll be really disappointed. I think Australians probably 40 runs short. They need to come out and bowl well in a must-win game.”
Michael Clarke’s prediction was on point as Indians chased down the target with 13 balls to spare. With this win, Indian skipper Virat Kohli equalled predecessor Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s record run of nine ODI wins on the trot.

Harbhajan Singh, who is currently out of the team, shared Michael Clarke’s video on his Twitter handle and took a dig at him by asking him to think about making a comeback to the Aussie side in order to help his depleted team.
Harbhajan wrote: “Mate u need to come out of your retirement and start playing again I think.Era of Aussies producing top batsmans is over I feel.No quality.”

Moreover, India’s win over Australians also saw India leapfrog South Africa and Australia to the top spot in the world ODI rankings. The hosts were earlier occupying the second position, tied with Australia which has not slipped to the third place. The Proteas have dropped one spot to be ranked second.
