Australian team bus attack UPDATE: Two individuals ARRESTED in connection for throwing stones

This is a good piece of news that police have brought the culprit to book. Two have been arrested but not much is yet known about them

Finally, two individuals have been arrested in connection with the attack on the Australian cricket team bus. Apparently, stones were thrown at the Australian cricket team bus that was returning to the hotel after defeating India by 8 wickets in the 2nd T20I. The grave incident took place just after the match got over. Australian opener Aaron Finch took to Twitter to tell about the incident and express his shock. His post read, “Pretty scary having a rock thrown through the team bus window on the way back to the hotel!!.” Meanwhile, Assam CM Sarbanda Sonowal had asked the DGP of the state to look into the matter and ensure those guilty were caught at the earliest.

“We made every attempt to ensure a foolproof security but don’t know how this happened. It was near the team hotel and not at the crowded street near the stadium,” Buragohain was quoted as saying by PTI.

“The police have already arrested two persons and are investigating into the matter. I can assure that such incident won’t occur in future again. There will be a thick security cover when the Australian team leaves for Hyderabad,” he added.

The incident was widely condemned by the cricketing fraternity, the authorities involving the Sports Minister of India, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the CM of Assam as well as the fans. Ace Indian offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin also condemned the incident as he too took to Twitter to ask the fans not to set a bad precedence.

The stone thrown at the Aussie team bus shows us in bad light, let’s all act more responsibly. A vast majority of us are capable of that._

It is sad that the Australian cricket team had to face such an incident in a country which believes that guests are a form of God itself.
