Former Indian offspinner Harbhajan Singh recently got a ‘lesson’ on Sikhism after he posted a picture of his wife performing Karwa Chauth. On October 9, married women across the country celebrated the auspicious festival of Karwa Chauth. This is a ritual in which the wife keeps a day-long fast in hope of their husband’s long life. But recently Harbhajan Singh was lashed at by his Twitter followers for celebrating Karwa Chauth. Jalandhar-born Harbhajan Singh is one of the most celebrated spinners to have represented the country. He also has a hat-trick to his name. Singh played an integral role in India’s 2003 cricket World Cup finals and was a part of the 2007 World T20 winning team.
Apparently, Bhajji took to Twitter to share the candid moment of his wife concluding the fast, however, an unhappy Twitter follower of his started brazenly criticizing him for celebrating Karwa Chauth.
The follower, seeing Harbhajan’s tweet about Karva Chauth, commented saying that celebrating the festival was ‘hypocrisy as per Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji,’ after which Bhajji decided to teach him a valuable humanly lesson.

Many cricketers and their wives also celebrated the festival of Karwa Chauth. Virender Sehwag’s wife, Aarti Sehwag, also posted about the auspicious day, tweeting that she was ‘Proud to be fasting for love of my life’.
