After 9 days of celebration, enjoyment and fun, finally, the grand festival of Navratri has reached its final day. Vijaya Dashmi, also called Dussehra, marks the culmination of the 10-day long Navratri festival which is known for the historic victory of Lord Rama over the evil King of Lanka, Ravana. Effigies of Ravana are burnt on this day as a symbol of the victory of good over evil across the country. While in the eastern part of India, Vijayadashami is the celebration of Goddes Durga’s triumph over the invincible Buffalo king Mahishasura.
