Dwayne Johnson fails to guess cricket umpire signals

It was altogether a fun session where The Rock himself realised that he needs to learn a lot about the gentlemen's game

Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock was promoting his upcoming film Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle in Los Angeles. The Hollywood and WWE superstar has a huge following in this country and for the sake of his fans, he asserted that he will try to learn India’s ‘national obsession’ — the game of cricket. It was very surprising to see that he doesn’t know the basic cricketing signals given by the on-field umpires but he knew about Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s iconic helicopter shot.

In a video shared by Star Sports, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was shown a few footages from some random cricket matches and he was asked to guess what the umpire was signalling. In the first clip, the umpire could be seen raising his finger to indicate the player was out while Johnson’s prediction was,”the umpire is telling him that if he joins this field, he would be number one.”

When the umpire indicated a no-ball, The Rock took it as a gesture that his millions of Indian fans are on the right side of the umpire.

Though he completely failed to guess all the umpire signals correctly, he was smart enough to guess a helicopter shot when a clip of MS Dhoni was played. Moreover, he identified all the batting shots correctly and even guessed a type of a bowling delivery.
