Dinesh Chandimal mocks Team India ahead of 3rd Test, says can’t understand their preparation for SA tour

The third test is going to commence on December 2 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi. India is leading the 3-match Test series by 1-0

Ahead of the third and the final India vs Sri Lanka Test match in Delhi, Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal has taken a dig on the Indian cricket team. In the pre-match press conference, the visiting team captain pointed to team India’s preparation for the forthcoming South Africa tour. Citing the condition of the pitches, Chadimal stated that he’s not sure what the home has been doing in the name of preparing for their next tour.

While interacting with the media ahead of the match in Delhi, Chandimal said,

“I am surprised they are saying they are preparing for South Africa but they are giving these pitches.”

After witnessing the pitches in Kolkata and Nagpur, he went on to speak about the Delhi track and said,

“If you look at the wicket here (Kotla), I am not sure they are preparing for South Africa! It looks like a Nagpur pitch. The Kolkata pitch was similar to South African pitches but these two are not like that. We never underestimate any team and we need to give our best.”

Chandimal also spoke about the difference between the mindsets of both the teams. He said,

“They are thinking about the next series but we as a team are focusing on this series, and we are thinking about each and every game that how we can win. What they think is not in our control. As a team we can control what we can.”

Earlier, it has been stated by the Indian team members during the press conferences that the pitches against Sri Lanka have been prepared to prepare for the South Africa Tour.

The third test is going to commence on December 2 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi. India is leading the 3-match Test series by 1-0 and looking forward to another series victory.
