‘Dhoni is ‘God’, Jos is ‘Human”, Twitterati troll Michael Vaughan for calling Buttler better than MSD

The Englishman has served a timely reminder to all those franchise owners who are eyeing explosive batsmen to strengthen their squads

Jos Buttler vs MS Dhoni!

This is the poll former English captain Michael Vaughan ran on his Twitter account, post the English wicketkeeper’s breathtaking 100 off 83 balls against a formidable Australian side in their backyard. It was an innings to remember as the crowd got treated to 6 fours and 4 sixes, as he also added a 113-run unbeaten stand for the seventh wicket with Chris Woakes. But to compare young Buttler to MS Dhoni, a World Cup-winning captain, may have been stretching the bar a tad bit too high. The results of the polling arrived and MS Dhoni was a clear winner. MS Dhoni got 61 percent votes compared to 39 percent garnered by the Englishman.

Vaughan, who was highly impressed by Buttler’s efforts said,

“The Indians will go nuts because they’ll say ‘there’s MS Dhoni’. Well, I think Buttler’s just gone ahead of MS Dhoni because of his approach and because of the power he brings. Buttler’s done this before for England. I remember in Dubai against Pakistan he just exploded from 50 to 100. He just got the gift, hasn’t he? I don’t there’s a better middle-order batsman in world white-ball cricket.”

What was strange about Buttler’s breathtaking knock was the fact, it was apparently his slowest century, strange, isn’t it? Previously he had smashed scores of 129, 121, 116* and 105 previously off just 77, 74, 52 and 76 balls, respectively.

THE POLL:

Intrigued what you all think…You are allowed 1 of these 2 now in your team… Who you going for on present form !??

Final results … It’s MS Dhoni 61 % would still pick NOW over Jos …. #MyArse https://t.co/682mpnMOos

But the Englishman still fell short in the polling and that drew flak from Dhoni fans on social space, who took to Twitter and here is what they tweeted.

Present form, previous form, out of form, full form, even if he is retired I would choose @msdhoni

And u r comparing MS wid Butler….Is Butler who has no place in Test team worth comparing with MS…First let Butler prove himself in Test cricket by getting place in playing 11 then we wld discuss on that…..

Dhoni is GOD. Jos is good but he is just a human. It will take him 7 more births to stump as fast as Dhoni and score over 15000 runs with almost 50 average

— Sunderdeep Singh (@SSunderdeep) January 22, 2018

“Jos is just human” What species is Dhoni ? Considering how inept he was at real (test) cricket..

Whatever it be, the Englishman has served a timely reminder to all those franchise owners who are eyeing explosive batsmen to strengthen their squads.
