Dear Virat Kohli, here’s a 5-point BLUEPRINT for India to conquer Dharamshala decider against Australia

India v Australia, IndvAus: After watching the series ball-by-ball here's is what Virat Kohli could tweak to come up trumps against the visitors

Virat Kohli all said and done, it has boiled down to the final Test at Dharamshala. Throughout the tournament, you have been woefully out of form, never thought that would happen. But you see strange things happen now-a-days, like the unexpected Brexit and then Donald Trump reigning supreme in U.S. This is just a game, so why is media going helter-skelter trying to bash Virat Kohli. It has been a series that has swung like a pendulum. If at certain point of time you thought Australia were clear favourites to clinch the series, Virat Kohli and Co. came back and nearly took that all important lead in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar trophy. This series has been marred by controversies like the DRS, brain fade incident, Ishant Sharma getting excessively animated and then the shoulder mock by Glenn Maxwell.

After watching the series ball-by-ball here’s is what Virat Kohli could tweak to come up trumps against the visitors.

1: Fine tune fielding: Throughout the series they have missed crucial opportunities at crunch times. Even in the Ranchi Test that was the case. They have been going htrough the fielding sessions but somehow it is not coming together during the match, a concern for sure.

2: Ashwin going flat: Like Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin is someone who thrives on confidence and that getting that first wicket early. In this Ranchi Test, things did not really fall in place for the tweaker. Unlike Nathan Lyon, the Australian who was landing the ball outside the off stump and then allow it to turn. That gave him more chances of getting a wicket, a catch at forward short leg is on. Ashwin on the other hand has been bowling more stump to stump, that is one thing he can change at Dharamshala.

3: A Jinx & Chiku return: That is what Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli are called respectively. This has been the most unusual thing in the series, Ajinkya Rahane has played a good knock but has not been reaping the runs he is known to reap. He is looking to be aggressive a bit to early. Virat Kohli has been the story of the series, he has never had such a drought since he came into the national squad. So where is the loose end? It seems he is not relaxed and is trying too hard to make a real impact in this series.

4. Go easy with DRS: Both teams have looked unsure and confused with the DRS. Virat Kohli has been a compulsive user of DRS and has failed at that too. In fact in the Ranchi Test, DRS took centrestage when Smith failed in taking a successful review, Virat got excited and he made gestures as well.

5: Look to capitalise: At Ranchi, one felt that Virat lost a trick by not asking Saha and Pujara to go after the Australians once they were comfortable on day 4 after the first hour. He should have because, he needed more time to realistically press for a win.
