David Warner introduces the NEW Maxwell, says ‘it’s just the begining’

India vs Australia Ranchi Test: David Warner on Glenn Maxwell he said, "For Maxi it's about just doing the basics right.”

Glenn Maxwell, who is known as a marauder in the shortest format and the limited overs game has recently got a ton against India in challenging conditions. At Ranchi, Maxwell gave us glimpses of his whole range and repertoire which we were aware of but had not witnessed it. He also showed determination and patience something that was an age-old problem of his. He used to get to those breezy 30s’ and 40s’ and then gift his wicket away. But at Ranchi with his skipper for company, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell reiterated to the whole world that why he is hailed as a ‘waste’ of talent and potential. You do not get out cheaply if you posses a game like Glenn Maxwell.

In an exclusive interview, David Warner said, “For Maxi it’s about just doing the basics right.” Adding further he reckoned Maxi should keep doing what he does in the nets.

Elaborating on what may be going on in the head of Maxwell, the southpaw said, “I think you look at the Twenty20 in Sri Lanka (last year), when he scored the 100 there, I think he’s got it in his head that he knows he’s got the capacity to do that, to take games away from teams.”

Explaining about Maxwell as a Test batsman he said, “To come out here and fight like he did and bat time, it should say to him he can play this format.”
