Twitterati did not spare Bangladesh as India had a comfortable win in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semi-final

Bangladesh's dreams of playing their first final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 got thrashed as India beat them by 9 wickets in the semi-finals

India once again played like true Champions and knocked out Bangladesh out of the tournament in their first semi-final in the history of the tournament. It was the bowlers first who did not Bangladesh post a gigantic total at Edgbaston which is a batting paradise. Indian openers once again put on a partnership which flipped all the Bangladesh bowlers’ plans as they chased down the target with 59 balls to spare with Rohit Sharma scoring century and Kohli scoring 96. Cricketers around the world and former cricketers had their eye on the semi-finals and they took to Twitter to celebrate India’s victory over Bangladesh.

It was the first semi-final for Bangladesh in the history of the tournament but they could not convert it into their first final as India emerged winners flawlessly. There was rain threat looming over the semi-final before the toss but the skies cleared soon after and a full match was on cards.

Kedar Jadhav was the surprise element of the match as he picked up two wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal and strengthened India’s position in the game.

So proud. Congratulations team India. Great performance by @imVkohli, @ImRo45 & @SDhawan25! My best wishes for the finals against Pakistan.

The good news for India is that with the final against Pakistan right around the corner their top order is in full flow. Kohli has got his rhythm back and it will be needed with Junaid Khan playing in the final match.
