Mashrafe Mortaza’s-led Bangladesh side set 265-run target for team Indian in the second semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 cricket tournament at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on June 15. Earlier, Virat Kohli won the toss and he invited Bangladesh to bat first.

After losing Soumya Sarkar early in the first over, left-hander Tamim Iqbal along with Sabbir Rahman tried to put Bangladesh in a strong position. But Sabbir Rahman too dismissed early on 19. Sabbir Rahman fell prey to Ravindra Jadeja. At that time Bangladesh were tottering at 36-2. Then came wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim. He along with Tamim Iqbal then provide some momentum to their team.

Mushfiqur Rahim gave Tamim Iqbal good company and the duo added 123 run for the team. Tamim Iqbal top scored for Bangladesh with 70. During his stay in the middle, he smashed 7 fours and 1 six. Besides Tamim, Mushfiqur played a vital knock of 61 runs which included 4 fours.

Apart from these two, no other Bangladeshi batsman could not stay longer at the crease and they could only manage to put 264 run on board with loss of 7 wickets in their quota of 50 overs.

For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Kedar Jadhav were the pick of bowlers picking two wickets each.
