ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Rohit Sharma, the Indian opener has hit form in the ICC Champions Trophy opener against Pakistan where he scored 91

Rohit Sharma, the Indian opener has hit form in the ICC Champions Trophy opener against Pakistan where he scored 91, setting up the Indian total. India beat Pakistan in the first match and are comfortably placed to make the semis. Rohit Sharma has been a magnificent player for team India, he has amazing limited overs record, he has two double centuries to his name which is nearly unheard of in limited overs. That shows how explosive he is at the top of the order. He started of his career as a middle order batsman but then when he was vested with the responsibility to open he made his niche at the top.

Recently speaking at the charity ball held by Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma was asked by Alan Wilkins as to who is the toughest bowler he has faced. Rohit Sharma said,

“Dale Steyn. We’ve seen over the years what he has done for his country. It is always challenging to play against him. Since I’ve started opening it’s become even more challenging. I’ve always enjoyed playing against him, always competitive, so I think I’d say Dale Steyn.”

In that event other players of the Indian outfit were also present. Vijay Mallya, the absconder, was also present at the event and that caught eyeballs.

Rohit Sharma is also the captain of the victorious Mumbai Indians outfit, which won the recently concluded Indian Premier League.
