ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Mohammad Kaif predicts India’s XI against Pakistan: Hardik Pandya surprise exclusion

ICC Champions Trophy: Kaif's eleven comprises of all the expected names but a couple of names that are missing his list is Hardik Pandya, who smashed a 80

Mohammad Kaif is one of India’s finest fielder’s ever to have represented the country. He often fielded at covers and was the hero at the 2004 Natwest victory in England. Hence, that shows Kaif has apt experience of the English conditions, like very few. Mohammad Kaif was also a part of the Indian Premier League’s Gujarat Lions franchisee as an assistant coach. Gujarat Lions, table toppers from last year did not fare well this time round, they were at the bottom half of the table. But, there is Mohammad Kaif who has made a prediction, he has predicted the eleven India will field against Pakistan, which is in some corners still referred to as the ‘mother of all battles’.

His eleven comprises of all the expected names but a couple of names that are missing his list is Hardik Pandya, who smashed a breathtaking 80 yesterday in the warm-up game against Bangladesh. So going by that, he is in hot form and should be making the cut but he misses out on Kaif’s list.

Mohammad Kaif Playing XI against Pakistan:

Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah.

The squad as you can see is in expected lines, where Rohit opens with Dhawan, followed by Virat. Yes, there is a conundrum over the number 4 spot as there are many contenders for that, hence going for Kedar over Hardik is bound to raise eyebrows.
