ICC Champions Trophy 2017: ENGVBAN: Joe Root scores hundred, Twitter compares him to telephone. It is hell-hilarious!

ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Joe Root has already set the ICC Champions Trophy on fire after he got to his highest career score of 133 and stayed unbeaten as England made a mockery of 305

Joe Root has already set the ICC Champions Trophy on fire after he got to his highest career score of 133 and stayed unbeaten as England made a mockery of 305. In fact, England was not even tested. Their top order comprising of Root, Hales and Morgan look in solid form and that means England can threaten many teams and go a long way in the tournament. Rot in a way neutralized the brilliant hundred made by Tamim Iqbal, who too got a ton. England won the match on a canter by 8 wickets and without breaking a sweat. This is exactly what got Twitter talking, there were some witty, sarcastic tweets about Joe Root post his gem of a knock. But, let us start with the most hilarious of them all:

Here is a person who compares Root to the Telephone:

Q.Wat wud you get to hear if joe root’s phone is unavailable?
A.”Iss root ki sabhi linein vyast hain”
superb performance #JoeRoot #ENGvsBAN

This was more on the high-brow note:

Joy watching the English bat…what a consummate chase…serious batting unit. #JoeRoot #EoinMorgan #ENGvBAN

Earlier in the day, Liam Plunkett picked up four wickets and was the pick of the English bowlers.

Tamim Iqbal too scored the highest score by a Bangladeshi batsman in an ICC event, which was commendable.

What a truly magnificent cricketer #JoeRoot is.

Hopefully, Bangladesh will learn from their mistakes and try to rectify it in the next game. This is such a cut-throat competitive tournament that you lose a match and you are almost out of the race.

Bangladesh thought they had won #CT17 !
Superb by #JoeRoot! #ENGvBAN @root66

Root and Hales have put on 85 from 91 with just one or two slog sweeps. Calm, measured and on course.
