Ahmed Shehzad scores record-breaking century in National T20 Cup semi-final — WATCH

Ahmed Shehzad scored yet another century in the T20 format and that too in the National T20 Cup's semi-final match on November 29.

Ahmed Shehzad scored his fourth century in the T20 format and that too in a knockout game of National T20 Cup on November 29. Shehzad scored 104 runs from 59 balls in the National T20 Cup second semi-final match between Lahore Blues and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) at Rawalpindi. The Pakistani opener also became the first batsman to score three centuries in knockout/playoff games.

Shehzad’s century helped his team with a huge total on the scoreboard batting first. Lahore scored 221 runs losing just one wicket in the innings. Shehzad remained not out until the end. He hit 13 fours and 2 sixes and scored at a strike rate of 176.27.

The 26-year-old got support from Imam-ul-Haq who scored 62 runs from 42 balls with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes. Imam shared a partnership of 145 runs for the first wicket.

Mohammad Hafeez contributed with fireworks in the death overs by scoring a 19-ball-52. He scored at a whopping strike rate of 273.68. He struck 5 fours and 4 sixes in his blistering knock.

FATA gave a fitting reply to Lahore Blues’ score as well. They scored at a good run rate right from the start but fell short of the target by 10 runs in the end. FATA scored 211 for 8 in 20 overs with Khushdil Shah and Mukhtar Ahmed top-scored with 56 and 47 respectively.

Lahore Blues also went on to win the National T20 Cup by beating Lahore Whites in the final by 7 wickets.

Shehzad is one of the few cricketers who have centuries in all the three formats and the only Pakistani cricketer to have a T20I century.
