Ace shuttler Jan O Jorgensen has his fan moment; expresses his desire to meet Sachin Tendulkar

Jan O Jorgensen is a part of Delhi Acers in the Premier Badminton League while Sachin Tendulkar is a co-owner of Bengaluru Blasters

Sachin Tendulkar is revered as the God of Indian cricket for a reason as he has the power to unite a nation of 1.3 billion. His fan following is not just limited to India but exists in the far reaches of the world. A recent addition to that list is ace shuttler Jan O Jorgensen. The World number 2 from Denmark expressed his desire to meet the Master Blaster in a conversation with Indian shuttler Parupalli Kashyap on Twitter.

After Kerala Blasters’ success in the Indian Super League, Sachin Tendulkar is all set to back its badminton franchise – Bengaluru Blasters. In a recent video released by the Premier Badminton League, one can see Sachin getting ready for the upcoming tournament that will be held from January 1-14, 2017. Six teams – Delhi Acers, Mumbai Rockets, Awadhe Warriors, Hyderabad Hunters, Bengaluru Blasters and Chennai Smashers – will compete against each other to lift the trophy in the second edition of the league.

Responding to the video, Parupalli Kashyap expressed that he is a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar. Kashyap, who is a part of the Chennai franchise, was disheartened that he won’t be playing for Sachin’s team but against him. Jorgensen joined the conversation and revealed that he, too, is a big fan. He also shared that he is a decent cricketer himself.

Jorgensen who is a part of the Delhi Acers, shared that he has played cricket during his formative years and is well aware about cricketing terms. In fact, the 28-year-old was selected as a wicket-keeper batsman for the Under-13 Danish team.

Well once a sportsperson, you always remain one. So what if Jorgensen hasn’t played cricket in long. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see Sachin bowl a few overs to the Danish?
