Aakash Chopra gets bashed up on Twitter for indirectly criticising Delhi Daredevils mentor Rahul Dravid!

Aakash Chopra gets on the receiving end of Twitterati's wrath when he tried to criticise Delhi Daredevils' mentor Rahul Dravid, questioning his tactics

Delhi Daredevils (DD) have had a bad run in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 having knocked out of the race for the IPL playoffs. Once again they have not been able to make a mark in IPL, let alone reaching the final which they have not been able to do since the inaugural season. This has got the attention of former Indian cricketer and Hindi commentator Aakash Chopra, but, this time around he indirectly took a dig at DD’s mentor Rahul Dravid who has been involved with the team for two seasons.

Dravid has shown his trust in the youngsters, one of the reasons Chopra tried to question his tactics. He is the reason behind the brilliance of youngsters Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. Chopra tweeted, “You get brilliance & inconsistency from youth. #DD rode on their brilliance but did not invest in experience to cover for their inconsistency.”

The tweet from Chopra did not go down well with the Twitterati as they went on to criticise Chopra for his comments and counter them with arguments. Amidst all this, it was satisfying to know that fans are still backing DD’s mentor Dravid who himself has been the supplier of young talents for the future of Indian cricket team. Pant has been picked already in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 squad.

DD lost a few experienced players as South African stars Jean-Paul Duminy and Quinton de Kock were not available for the ongoing season. They were an indispensable part of DD’s squad in the previous season when they missed the playoffs by a whisker.

@cricketaakash That’s what DRAVID believes in & experiments with- the Process of Growing Up for the youngsters important for him than the product-winning!
