Pharma and healthcare sector pays maximum

If you are a young professional looking for a thick salary, try to get a job in Bengaluru.

As per the statistics, Bengaluru is the highest paying city for professionals with an average annual salary of around Rs 11 lakh. The IT hub is followed by Pune with Rs 10.2 lakh rupees annual salary.

Interestingly, contrary to the general perception, pharma and healthcare sectors in the country doles out highest salary.

These figures constitute the findings of Randstad Insights 2018, a multinational human resource consulting firm. The salary insights report analysed 1,00,000 jobs across 20 industry verticals and 15 functions.

In terms of annual salary, NCR (National Capital Region) at Rs 9.9 lakh and Mumbai at Rs 9.2 lakh figure on the third and fourth spot respectively. Chennai pays an annual salary of Rs 8 lakh to professionals while as Hyderabad doles out slightly less at Rs 7.9 lakh per annum. Professionals working in Kolkata take home an annual salary of Rs 7.2 lakh annually.

The highest paying sector after pharma and healthcare is professional services sector with an average salary of Rs 9.4 lakh.  Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is the third highest paying industry with an average CTC of Rs 9.2 lakh.

In terms of highest paying sector,  the IT sector with an average annual CTC of Rs 9.1 lakh, ranks at the fourth spot. Infrastructure, real estate and construction sector yielded an average annual salary of Rs 9 lakh.
