This Bakery Made A Chocolate Ganapati To Promote Eco-Friendly Ganesh Chaturthi

The 'sweetest' way to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi

In the recent years, the idea of celebrating an eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi is slowly catching up with people. Many are doing away with immersing Ganesha idols coloured with toxic paints and are switching to greener alternatives. But this bakery in Ludhiana, Punjab has something more to offer.

Belfrance Bakers & Chocolatiers has made a 65-kg Belgium chocolate Ganesha idol. 20 chefs were involved in making the chocolate idol. Instead of immersing it in a water body, the chocolate idol will be put into milk and turned into chocolate shake. The beverage will be then distributed among underprivileged kids.

The bakery has been making chocolate Ganesha for the past three years. “We basically want to inspire people to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly way. This is our bit to the environment,” Harjinder Singh Kukreja, the owner said.
