The Face Of Courage: Why This Photo From Sabarimala Protests Is Going Viral

A woman journalist was attacked allegedly by BJP workers for doing her duty.

Amid all the mayhem and turmoil in Kerala over Sabarimala, a powerful photograph of a woman journalist covering the violent protests in Kerala over Sabarimala is going viral. Shajila Ali Fathima, a cameraperson, who works for Kairali TV was allegedly attacked by BJP workers in Thiruvananthapuram for doing her job on Wednesday. She was attacked on the day two women in their 40s created history by entering Sabarimala temple for the first time since the Supreme Court allowed the entry of women which was earlier banned for them.

Meanwhile, the BJP has called for a ‘total shutdown’ while Congress is observing a ‘black day’ to protest against the entry of women in the shrine. The protests have already claimed a life and left hundreds injured. As per a PTI report, 266 people have been arrested so far in connection with the violence.
