The two earth observation satellites were launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The two satellites from UK, NovaSAR and S1-4 were launched by Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C42. Both satellites were injected into 583 km Sun Synchronous Orbit.

NovaSAR will be used for forestry mapping, land use and ice cover monitoring, flood and disaster monitoring and maritime missions while the S1-4 will be used for surveying resources, environment monitoring, urban management and disaster monitoring.

Congratulations to our space scientists! ISRO successfully launched PSLV C42, putting two UK satellites in orbit, demonstrating India’s prowess in the competitive space business. @isro
