Based on competence, people can be divided into three categories — those who learn from their mistakes, are smart. Those who learn from their parent’s mistakes are genieuses. And those who keep on repeating the same mistake over and over again are incompetent. Unfortunaltely, given his knack for u-turns and inconsistent statments, Congress vice- president Rahul Gandhi falls in the last category.
Few days after his u-turn on his take on RSS killing Mahatma Gandhi, the Gandhi scion f*%#ed up big time with his statement on the surgical strikes. On Thursday, while addressing farmers at Jantar Mantar, Gandhi said:
“Our soldiers have given their blood in Jammu and Kashmir, carried out surgical strikes for India, you (PM) are hiding behind their blood, Aap unki dalali kar rahe ho. Ye galat hai “.
Just six days back at a public rally he stand on the issue was completely different:
“I want to thank him (PM) because for the first time in two-and-a-half years he has taken an action that is of the stature of PM”
Even Congress president Sonia Gandhi in a statment had backed Modi on the strikes:
“This is a strong message that convey’s our country’s resolve to prevent further infiltration and attacks on our security forces and our people.”
So why this volte face now?
Did Rahul Gandhi not take a lesson from how Kejriwal had to eat his words for questioning the veracity of strikes? (Funny that Kejriwal has now condemned Gandhi’s statement)
Does he not remember how his mother’s ‘maut ka saudagar’ statement during Gujarat election campaign in 2007 helped in soaring Modi’s popularity further in the state?
And honestly, what does the word Dalali even mean, in this context? Clearly, he needs better advisers and a good Hindi teacher.
