Bihar University issues admit card with image of Lord Ganesha on it

In a big goof-up, Bihar University issues admit card to a B.Com first year student with image of Lord Ganesha on it

A first year B.Com student from Bihar’s Lalit Narayan Mithila University was shocked beyond belief after he saw the image of Lord Ganesha on his admit card, instead of his own face.

Krishna Kumar Roy found the picture after he collected the hall ticket from university’s office. The admit card was issued by the university on Wednesday, exams for which are scheduled to begin from October 9. It’s not only the image, the admit card carries the signature of Lord Ganesha. The residential address was also wrong in the card, however, it was not Hindu God’s address. The goof-up underscores the haphazard manner with which things are being handled by the university.

“I had filled the examination form correctly along with my photo, but I am shocked to see Lord Ganesha’s photo on my admit card. Will Lord Ganesha sit for the exams? I am running from pillar to post to rectify the mistake but no one is willing to listen. This is the negligence of University authorities” said, Krishna Kumar Roy, candidate for B Com (Hons) Part-1 exams,” India Today quoted Roy as saying.

However, authorities passed the buck on the cyber cafe that was tasked to prepare admit cards for the candidates. “It appears that the mistake has been done by the cyber cafe where admit cards were prepared. They should have looked into this. We are inquiring into the matter as to how this mistake happened. We will rectify the mistake soon and the candidate will have no problem in appearing for exams,” said Kulanand Yadav, Controller of Examination of the Lalit Narayan Mithila University.
